Snoop Dogg's Net Worth is the One and Only D-O double G

Snoop Doing The Impossible (Or At Least The Unlikely)

Oh yes, I'm fresh 'til i expire from existence - with persistence, I proceed, supplying you with what you need, no room for greed… Respect the game and the game will respect you back.

from “2001” by Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg has done the impossible - or at least, he’s managed something very unlikely. He’s taken a career steeped in what one interviewer summarized as “20 years of guns, gangsters and misogyny” and turned it into an ongoing business empire. More than that, he’s become the safe-but-still-cool representative of rap, sex, and heavy marijuana usage on everything from game shows to news programs to other people’s recording sessions.

It’s difficult to imagine many of his former contemporaries managing the same.

A former drug dealer and pimp (by his own admission), Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. (as he used to be known way, WAY back in the day) is now sought after for Pepsi commercials and ads for home security systems or cheap car insurance - not the sorts of things one might naturally associate with “bad boy” street cred.

Maybe it has something to do with his deep commitment to Mormonism. Or, rather… Islam. Or maybe it’s Christianity (he has several albums proclaiming this one). Then again, it could be his devout Rastafarianism. It kinda depends on when you ask him and how he’s feeling at the time.

Then again, maybe he’s just a man looking for ways to be more responsible with his influence without rejecting or negating the legendary status that is “Snoop Dogg.” Surely we can’t fault him for that?

Top 10 Facts - Snoop Dogg // Top Facts

I put down more hits than mafioso made, and Lucky Lucianno 'bout to sing soprano… Makin' a killin', thrillin' the crowd wit my new hairdo, outfits unused, fifty dollar socks, hundred-thousand dollar shoes - you know who I be… I’m tha’ DoggFather.

In 2024, Snoop Dogg’s net worth is estimated right at $165 million, making him one of the ten richest rappers in the world.

So where has Snoop Dogg’s net worth come from? Let’s start with the most obvious source of income…

Album Sales

To date, Snoop Dogg has released eighteen studio albums, five collaborations with other artists, and been on countless compilations, extended plays, and other variations of modern marketing. He’s sold over 37 million albums - a third of those in the U.S. and the rest around the world. Along the way, he’s had over a dozen top-ten singles.

Early in his career, Snoop Dogg founded his own label - Doggy Style Records. While this means he’s responsible for much more of the business side of things, it also means he keeps a larger share of the profits.

This may sound like he’s living the easy life, but keep in mind we’re talking about a career spanning nearly thirty years. In terms of productive longevity, that puts him up there with the Rolling Stones, Cher, Neil Diamond, Madonna, Paul McCartney… maybe Tony Bennet or Barbara Streisand. All great talents and greatly respected and enjoyed in their own rights, but few (if any) of them can claim the pop culture status over that entire stretch that Snoop Dogg has somehow maintained.

And he’s not doing the same “greatest hits” tour every few years for the past few decades. He’s still putting out new tunes and people actually want to hear them. It’s kinda crazy.

Licensing And Entrepreneurship

My grandpappy once sat me on his lap and he said, “Sonny get your money 'fore you end up dead.” … But life's so hard on a G, that's what they all say - but somehow, someway, you got to make a better way. You got to make a better way.

Snoop Dogg has not been shy about putting his name on things or using his music to promote other projects. He’s got his own skateboard line. He runs an e-sports league (in which people pay to watch competitors play video games). He even partnered with Hustler magazine to put together a porn film in which his music is prominently featured.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting pretty tired of the porn industry not paying more attention to putting together a quality soundtrack for each new release.

Online at the “Snoopermarket,” you can purchase everything from Snoop Dogg candles to a Snoop Dogg cookbook to hoodies, t-shirts, and jackets. And of course Snoop Dogg has his own line of cannabis and related products, as well as investing in startups related to his self-medication of choice.

For many celebrities, that sort of marketing can backfire. They can end up labeled as “sellouts” or, worse, “desperate.” For Snoop Dogg, it just makes him look like a good businessman.

Looking at Snoop Dogg’s net worth, I suppose he is.

Commercials And Television

I'm livin up in the hills, wine sippin wit mills. I'm havin’ major type of paper - I ain't trippin off bills. Show me some respect and accept my coolness… and don't mistake my kindness to mean I'm foolish.

Snoop’s popularity with such a large, diverse audience means he’s in great demand as a spokesperson for a wide range of products. He insists he only takes offers from companies he believes in - or at least those who aren’t openly opposed to the things he values.

Snoop Dogg has done adds for Dunkin’ Donuts, Just East (a food delivery service), Tostitos chips and dips, SodaStream (a product and service which allows you to essentially create your own carbonated drinks at home for greater variety and in order to reduce plastic waste), and - most recently - Corona beer. It shouldn’t work - not so many spots with so many different types of companies and products.

But Snoop Dogg’s net worth says it must.

Refusing To Compromise On The Essentials

This is not a separate income stream, but it is something I suspect is key to the rest.

Whether or not Snoop Dogg is your thing, we can safely say he has some serious musical talent. He’s neither a fluke nor the flavor-of-the-week put together by some record label or network executive. And he definitely has personality. Love him or not, he’s charismatic and engaging in pretty much any context. I could see him presiding over my own funeral just as naturally as he hosts game shows or talks about crab dip with Martha Stewart.

In the case of Snoop Dogg, however, flexibility and likeability is not the same as compromise. Ask him about civil rights or the treatment of Black citizens in the U.S. and he’ll speak his mind clearly and sincerely. He names names without hesitation or the need to reference Google. Ask him about his “Doggfather” personality vs. social responsibility as a parent and husband, and he’ll be equally candid about his history and his efforts to balance a positive message with a genuine belief in the freedom to live the gangsta life.

In other words, Snoop Dogg’s net worth is probably a reflection of many things, but among them is his unwavering conviction to what he sees as truth. Being real and doing right. It’s not my preferred lifestyle, even if I had the talent or resources to go there, but that’s not the point.

Oh, Blaine? Pray tell then, what IS the point?

The Point

Just be thankful for all ya got - if it's just a little bit, it's all ya got. You might not have a car or big gold chain… stay true to yourself and things will change.

from “Be Thankful,” by Snoop Dogg

There are several common threads among the financially successful. You may not find every one of them in every story, but they’re definitely game-changers when it comes to shaping your own odds of success.

  1. One is underlying talent or ideas. Figure out what you have to offer, what you can do well - possibly better than anyone else - and commit to it. Keep getting better. There’s no need to disparage or tear down others along the way. Just keep chasing excellence, whatever that means in your chosen field.

  2. Another is flexibility. There’s an art to balancing conviction with pragmatism. Refuse to bend on the essentials, but be ready to rethink or redirect almost everything else. Do the research, listen to the wisdom of others, but in the end, follow your gut. You may not always be right, but what if you are?

  3. A third is style. There are still a few self-made millionaires who have dry, boring personalities, but they’re not the norm. Whether we’re talking about Steve Jobs, Tom Cruise, Deepak Chopra, or Snoop Dogg, most of wealth’s elite have their own very real personalities and styles, and they aren’t afraid to let themselves be who they are.

  4. The fourth is planning. Yes, rap and hip-hop artists, like many celebrities, are known for their expensive cars and extravagant lifestyles. (Snoop Dogg is certainly no exception on this one.) They enjoy their wealth - that’s part of what it’s for. What they don’t show you in the videos, however, is how carefully most of them invest, whether it’s in real estate, stocks, or start-ups. Whether your annual income is closer to $50,000 or $50 million, there’s no excuse not to look ahead.

Finally, however, the most successful entrepreneurs and entertainers in the world know their own core values and they rarely - if ever - compromise them. They come to terms with who they are and what they believe and while they may work to accommodate others, they refuse to sacrifice their own convictions to make it happen.

Personally, that’s what I see when evaluating Snoop Dogg’s net worth - a man who knows who he is and what he’s about, and who may be willing to work his tail off to get what he wants - but absolutely refuses to change who he is in the process.
